About this studio
Extremos is Amsterdam's established salsa and bachata school, teaching for over 25 years. They run 80+ classes every week across seven progressive levels: Beginners 1 & 2, Improvers 1 & 2, Intermediate 1 & 2, and Advanced. Beginners and Improvers classes run as structured six-week courses where you train the same day and time each week, building confidence step by step. Intermediate and Advanced classes operate as flexible drop-in sessions with no course commitment — you can attend multiple times per week if you choose.
The school emphasises that no partner is required to start, and classes are designed to be beginner-friendly. You book and manage classes through the Bueno app, where you can also view your schedule, attendance, and cancel if needed. Beginners 1 covers foundational basics over six weeks. Beginners 2 introduces new moves like the left turn and develops coordination and partner connection, with flexible scheduling via membership. Improvers 1 and 2 continue building technique and vocabulary. Intermediate 1 and 2 focus on advanced transitions, musicality, intricate combinations and footwork — these levels require a membership or punch card and average around 30 classes per level. Advanced 1 challenges dancers with complex routines, partner work, creativity and improvisation.
Extemos also runs regular social events and parties. They hold Latin Nights every Wednesday and Sunday at De Kroon (Rembrandtplein 17-I, Amsterdam), and host an Orchid House party every Sunday. They organise the Amsterdam Salsa Festival and are involved in international festivals including the Düsseldorf Int. Salsa Festival (July 10–12, 2026). These events give you a chance to practise moves from lessons on the dance floor and meet people in the community.
