Fred Astaire Dance Studios Chesapeake East teaches ballroom and Latin dance at 1040 Volvo Parkway in Chesapeake, Virginia. The studio is run by two owner-instructors. Krystyna Dubrovshchenko was born in Ukraine and earned a bachelor's diploma in choreography in 2014. She worked at Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Durham, North Carolina, where she was recognized as Top Dance Instructor for several years in a row, and in 2022 was named Best Female Instructor in a studio ranked number one in the country. In 2023 she won first place at the Fred Astaire World Championship in Close Smooth division. Vitalii Starikov, also from Ukraine (Lugansk region), has danced ballroom since age seven and earned a specialist diploma in choreography in 2012. He became Ukrainian National Champion in 2014 and was honoured as a Top Dance Teacher in 2021 at the Durham studio. In 2022 he ranked in the Top 25 World Cup Series dance instructors. Both instructors have now brought nearly 8 years of Fred Astaire experience to Chesapeake.
