Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Warwick teaches ballroom and Latin partnership dances to students of all ages and abilities. The studio offers instruction across American and International ballroom styles, with a curriculum covering Argentine Tango, Bolero, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Foxtrot, Hustle, Jive, Mambo, Merengue, Paso Doble, Quickstep, Rumba, Salsa, Samba, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Waltz, and West Coast Swing.
The teaching method combines private lessons, group classes, and practice parties to help you learn as much as possible in the shortest time while having fun. You'll be on your way to confident dancing by the end of your first lesson, according to the studio. The instructors are certified in the Fred Astaire curriculum and many have fine arts degrees and active competition experience. Staff members include Emily Cortez (Owner/Training Director), Juliet Garcia, Rogelio Garcia, and Nicola Moore.
Wedding dance programmes are a speciality. The studio can choreograph anything from a simple first dance to full wedding party routines set to your chosen music. They recommend starting at least 5–6 months before your wedding, though shorter timelines are accommodated. Consultations are free and the studio encourages you to bring photos of your venue, wedding attire, and favourite songs.
The studio runs guest parties, showcases, spotlights, community outreach events, coaching sessions, and off-site group outings. Fred Astaire also offers branded Regional, Inter-Regional, National and International Pro-Am and Professional dance competitions where students can compete, travel and develop their skills.
