Fred Astaire Dance Studios

Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Westminster teaches ballroom and Latin dance to adults and youth through private lessons, group classes and practice parties. The studio is part of the Fred Astaire network, which has been operating since 1947 with a mission to enrich lives through dance.

The studio offers instruction across a wide range of styles. You can learn Argentine Tango, Bolero, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, Foxtrot, Hustle, Jive, Mambo, Merengue, Paso Doble, Quickstep, Rumba, Salsa, Samba, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Waltz, and West Coast Swing. They teach both International and American Ballroom styles, and cover social dancing, wedding preparation and competitive training at Pro-Am and professional levels.

The teaching approach centers on a proprietary curriculum developed by Fred Astaire himself. Their instructors—many with Fine Arts degrees and active competition records—are certified in this method. The studio emphasizes that you'll be dancing confidently by the end of your first lesson, with learning structured through private instruction, group sessions and practice parties to maximise retention and speed of progress. The studio describes an atmosphere of "kindness, warmth and fun" and a "FADS community" that is welcoming and non-judgmental.

Wedding dance programs are customized for couples and can range from a simple first dance to choreographed routines for the entire wedding party. The studio recommends starting lessons at least five to six months before a wedding, though they can accommodate shorter timelines. They also offer Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance lessons. The studio is located 3.3 miles from The Westin Westminster and 2 minutes from Urban Air Trampoline & Adventure Park, with Standley Lake and Regional Park 4 miles away.

Beyond lessons, the studio runs Guest Parties, Showcases, Spotlights, Community Outreach Events, special Coaching Sessions and off-site Group Outings. They host branded Regional, Inter-Regional, National and International Pro-Am and Professional Dance Competitions including the Rocky Mountain Championships, Team Match events, the Freddy Ball and Spotlight Dinner Dance, and the Colorado Winter Ball Classic. An online dance store stocks dance-related items.
