About this studio

Kadanse—the name means "can dance"—is built on the belief that everyone can learn to dance. The studio is run by Fitz Gerald and Kelley St. Hilaire, who bring 20 years of teaching and pro-am dance experience. They met on the dance floor at a local salsa club in 2006 and went on to train and compete in Professional American Rhythm style, earning Rising Star Finalist honors at prestigious competitions including Ohio Star Ball, Holiday Dance Classic, Manhattan Dancesport, and the Yankee Classic. They have also competed and performed internationally in Canada and the Caribbean. Kadanse celebrated its 10th year as a studio in 2019.

The studio teaches a wide range of styles across ballroom, Latin, swing, and country genres. Group lessons run Monday and Wednesday evenings, rotating through styles: the Mondays 6:45pm Beginner to Intermediate Ballroom & Latin class covers dances like Waltz, Rumba, and Quickstep depending on the month; the 7:30pm Monday slot focuses on Social Dance with styles like Merengue and Bachata; and Wednesdays offer Intermediate to Advanced Ballroom & Latin, plus a separate Mambo class at 7:30pm. All group lessons are 45 minutes long.

Beyond weekly classes, Kadanse runs a regular social calendar. Monthly Ballroom & Latin Dances happen on the 2nd Saturday of every month, with doors at 7pm, a group lesson at 7:15pm, and dancing until 10:30pm ($20 per person). West Coast Swing Nights run on the 1st Saturday of the month, featuring workshops at different levels (Absolute Beginner, Beginner, Intermediate) from 6:30pm, followed by open dance until 10:30pm ($25 for the full evening, $20 per workshop, or $15 for dance only). Two-Step & Country Mixer events run on the 3rd Sunday of every third month with beginner and beyond-beginner lessons from 6pm, plus dancing until 9:30pm ($20 for the evening or $15 for dance only).

Private lessons are available for adults at $105 per lesson, or bundled packages from $515 for 5 lessons to $1900 for 20 lessons. Juniors pay $80 per lesson or $375 for 5 lessons. Group classes are $15 per drop-in, or unlimited monthly passes at $80–$120 depending on your private lesson commitment. The studio offers private and group instruction, demonstrations, shows, and corporate events. Fitz and Kelley tailor their approach to meet students where they are, whether your goal is fitness, competition, artistry, or simply social dancing.
