About this studio

KOKO Dance Academy is an award-winning dance studio run by Keziah Hunt, founder and principal, who trained professionally with Bodywork Company and holds a Theatre degree from Guildford School of Acting. The academy teaches children aged 3 and up across multiple dance styles and age groups, with two main locations: Llanrumney Hall Hotel (Ball Road, Llanrumney, Cardiff) and Eastern High School in East Cardiff.

Classes cover Ballet, Street Dance, Lyrical & Contemporary, Acro Dance, and a 3-hour Theatre School combining dance, acting and singing. The academy organises its teaching by age: under 6s, ages 7+, and ages 11+ upwards, with dedicated Performance Teams for students wanting extra training and external performances. Most classes welcome beginners; the exceptions are Intermediate Acro and Performance Teams, which require prior experience or skills.

The academy runs in-house Summer and Christmas shows in which all students can participate. Performance Teams undertake additional external performances requiring greater commitment. A two-week trial is offered to help new students settle in, build confidence, connect with instructors and make friends—the academy considers one class insufficient for the full experience.

Emma Spencer is listed as a teacher on staff. Parents consistently praise the academy's approach to building confidence and teamwork. The studio has won Overall Winner of the Community Impact Award at the Welsh Regional Entertainment Awards, Service Excellence and Best Dance School at The Prestige Awards, and is a nominee for National Best Dance School 2025. Communication with parents includes WhatsApp updates with messages, pictures and videos.
