About this studio
La Rumba Dance Studio teaches salsa and bachata to dancers aged four and up. Owner Erika Arzu founded the studio with a focus on creating a safe environment where children and adults can express themselves through dance while building confidence and fitness.
Classes run on Mondays and Wednesdays. Mondays offer beginner salsa (6:30–7:30 pm) and beginner bachata (7:30–8:30 pm) in four-week sessions. Wednesday classes cater to intermediate students with intermediate salsa (6:30–7:30 pm) and intermediate bachata (7:30–8:30 pm), available as drop-in or monthly membership. The studio also runs a beginner teen salsa class on Mondays at 6:30 pm, which teaches choreography for performance opportunities.
For absolute beginners, salsa focuses on basic steps needed to get on the dance floor. Intermediate salsa covers different patterns including turns, cross body leads, and more advanced styling. Bachata classes teach basic moves with playful syncopated steps. Salsa kids classes enrich children's lives with the beauty of salsa while teaching them about different rhythms and styles from Latin America and different cultures.
Private lessons are available for those not ready for group classes: beginners pay $60 for one session, $110 for two, $160 for three, or $200 for four. Group packages for intermediate salsa and bachata cost $60 for five classes or $100 for ten. Drop-in rates are $18 for one class or $25 for two classes; monthly memberships are $60 for one class or $80 for two. Couples pricing is also available: private lessons range from $80 to $150 depending on style and session count, while drop-in couples classes are $80 for one or $100 for two.
The studio hosts special events including a dance camp in summer, salsa and bachata socials, teen performance opportunities, and quince bookings. A 2,000 square foot open space is available for studio rental, accommodating private instruction, group rehearsals, and parties. First-time private students receive 50% off their first salsa class.
