About this studio

Lindy Hop in Florence was founded in 2010 with a clear mission: to spread the beauty and energy of swing music and dance—Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, and Authentic Jazz—in their purest form, faithful to the original spirit and technique. The school is built on the idea that it's more than just a dance venue: it's a project centred on sharing a genuine passion for swing culture and creating a different way to socialise through dance.

The school offers group classes, individual lessons, and workshops for adults, teenagers, and children, taught by nationally and internationally recognised instructors. Courses typically run for eight months from September to May, though shorter or longer programmes are occasionally organised. You can join as a solo dancer in Lindy Hop classes, where you rotate and change partners throughout; the school emphasises that you don't need to arrive with a dance partner. If you've never danced before, the first trial lesson is free. Most dancers pick up the basics within four lessons and can move across the floor with their classmates, though learning is individual and depends on your effort and practice.

Beyond regular classes, the school hosts live events featuring big bands and vintage vinyl DJ sets, monthly social dances, and weeknight practice sessions for students to practise and socialise. The staff are experienced and passionate about transmitting not just technique but musicality, social dance skills, and individual expression. Payment is flexible—you can pay monthly, bimestral, trimestral, or for the full course via PayPal, credit card, or cash on site.

To participate in courses and events, you must hold a membership (tessera) valid from 1 September to 31 August, purchased online or in person. Private lessons are available by appointment if you want to accelerate your progress or refine your style. The school caters to all levels, from complete beginners through to experienced dancers.
