About this studio
Lines Dance Academy is a family-owned studio with locations in Downtown Portland and Hillsboro. The studio was founded on a passion for Latin dance by Director Analine Villaraldo, a native of Puebla, Mexico, who moved to Oregon at age 16 and has spent the last 25 years building the academy into a worldwide-recognised school.
LDA teaches all ages across five main styles: Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Cumbia, and Danza Folklórico. The studio also offers structured Bachata Flow and Salsa Flow programmes that guide students through progressive levels. The instruction team includes Anita Villaraldo, Mere Gonzalez, Bryant Ayala, Tania Herrera, Brandon Ayala, Alexa Ray, Kayla Téllez, Iñaki Villanueva-Torres, Jeffrey Velez, Leah Leon Phifer, Colleen Carris, and Paloma Laguna.
The academy has won over 30 prestigious Latin dance titles from around the world and is home to some of the most recognizable names in modern Latin dance. Beyond recreational classes, LDA has built strong youth programmes focused on developing leadership skills, confidence, and dance ability—the studio has produced world-class dancers from these initiatives.
LDA works closely with the Latino community and offers specialised services including quinceañera training, private dance lessons, and choreography for weddings and private events. The studio runs classes at both the Portland and Hillsboro locations with current schedules available through ZenPlanner calendars.
