LYON ARTS DANCE CENTER

Lyon Arts Dance Center (LADC) is a dance school and social venue located at 22 Passage Faugier in Lyon's 7th arrondissement. The studio operates under the philosophy 'Rise Yourself'—the idea that dance is a path to self-discovery, confidence and personal growth. Each step on the floor is framed as progression toward well-being and self-acceptance.

The center runs a varied class program across multiple dance styles, with dedicated social evenings built around specific genres. You'll find 100% Rock nights, 100% West Coast Swing events, and 100% Latino soirées featuring Bachata, Salsa and Zouk brésilien. The studio advertises capacity to run up to 3 themed rooms depending on attendance, allowing different dance styles and skill levels to coexist in the same evening.

The physical space has been recently renovated. Reviewers highlight large, newly refitted premises and note that instructors are highly trained, devoted and approachable. The atmosphere is described as friendly and passionate.

LADC runs open-door weeks for both adults and children, offering taster classes at €2 each to encourage new members to experience the school and meet the teaching team before committing to a season pass. The studio actively promotes themed social events, masterclasses and regular themed parties throughout the year. Rock nights run on both Thursdays and Fridays; West Coast Swing socials are scheduled for Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, plus afterwork slots; Latino Mondays are a recurring fixture.

The school positions itself as 'a school of life' where each dance session becomes a moment of discovery, growth and personal development—not performance-focused, but centered on expression, liberation from constraint, and finding your own rhythm.

On a first visit during an open-door week (or at a regular class), expect large, recently renovated spaces with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Instructors are highly trained and welcoming. If you attend a social evening, you'll find themed dance floors: choose Rock, West Coast Swing, or Latino depending on what appeals to you.

The studio welcomes all levels and emphasizes self-discovery over performance; open-door weeks with €2 trial classes are designed to help newcomers try styles risk-free.
