About this studio
Swing Gum is a swing dance association based in Lyon, France, offering classes and social dance nights focused on Lindy Hop (a partner dance born in 1920s Harlem jazz clubs) and Solo Jazz / Jazz Roots, danced primarily to jazz and swing music. The association teaches period routines, the Charleston, and classic vintage jazz dance steps, and organizes regular swing balls (bals) and events throughout the year.
What to expect
Your first visit
Classes run in Lyon's 7th arrondissement across a 36-week year, with enrollment available annually or in 9-week sessions (four consecutive sessions per year on set dates). Both partnered Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz are taught. To join the association or sign up, prospective dancers email swinggum.lyon@gmail.com.
