Mabel Rivero Tango

Mabel Rivero is a dancer and choreographer based in Berlin who specializes in Argentine tango. She offers tango instruction alongside performances and choreographic work, framed around the philosophy that "with every embrace and every turn, new stories and illusions come to life."

Rivero's training spans classical dance, jazz, folk dances including Spanish dances and flamenco, modern and contemporary dance, and tango specialization. Her classical foundation came from a Diploma in Dance Teaching from Escuela del Ballet Municipal de Rosario (1977–1981), followed by advanced courses in Russian technique with Margarita Yusin from the Bolshoi Ballet. Between 1985 and 1992 she trained in jazz dance in Buenos Aires and Rosario, and from 1994–1997 she undertook tango dance specialization with Orlando Paiva, Mario Bournissen, and Victoria and Jorge Colosio, among others. She has also studied Limón Technique, Graham Technique, Release Technique, Contact Improvisation, Feldenkrais Method, and dance pedagogy including group psychology.

Over more than thirty years, Rivero has performed in stage productions and television projects. She describes her teaching as "a space for mutual exchange and growth," supporting students while sharing experience and learning alongside them. From 1989 onwards she taught jazz dance and contemporary dance in various contexts in Argentina, including at Escuela Provincial de Danza "Nigelia Soria" in Rosario (1992–2001).

Since 2002, her work has included conducting thematic workshops, seminars, small-group training, tango holidays, and participation in festivals across Europe. Her calendar regularly features tango holidays in locations including Tuscany, Crete, and Devon, as well as workshops in German cities. She also runs a "Ladies Technik" course in Berlin.

Rivero teaches tango rooted in intention and encounter. Instruction ranges from small-group training to thematic workshops and week-long tango holidays abroad. Sessions emphasize the philosophy that dance opens "endless ways to be experienced."

Mabel Rivero is the primary instructor. She trained classically in Rosario under Eduardo Ibañez, specialized in tango under Orlando Paiva and Mario Bournissen, and has over thirty years of performance and teaching experience across multiple dance disciplines.
