About this studio
Madam Pearl's Dancehall & Saloon occupies a building with deep Fort Worth history. The structure was built by Wild Bill Cody in the late 1800s and was purchased by Pearl Davis at age 15. Marie Duckworth acquired it in 2003 and renamed it Pearl's Dancehall and Saloon. In August 2021, parts of the Taylor Sheridan television series 1883 were filmed inside the building, which doubled as the White Elephant—you can spot scenes in episode 2.
Today the venue operates as a true saloon and honky-tonk in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards on West Exchange Avenue. The atmosphere centres on live music and dancing. DJs and live bands perform regularly and take song requests. The venue runs karaoke nights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (8pm, hosted by Shannon Johnson), live full bands Friday and Saturday nights at 9pm, and acoustic performances Saturday afternoons and Sunday evenings at 8pm.
Dance lessons run 2–3 times per week. On Thursdays at 7pm you can join a Beyond the Basics class for $5. Sundays offer two sessions at 6pm and 7pm covering line dancing and Basic techniques, also $5. The 3rd Saturday of each month features a free dance workshop at 3pm. Underage guests can attend dance lessons on Sundays, Thursdays, and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays with parental permission.
The venue is open 5pm to 2am Tuesday–Sunday, with early opening at 1pm on Saturdays and 3pm on Sundays. There is no cover charge Tuesday–Thursday and Sunday (unless a special event is running), and a $10 cover on Friday and Saturday after 8pm; entry is free before 8pm those nights. Happy hour runs Wednesday–Friday until 7pm with $4 well and domestic drinks, plus Lone Star draft at $3 and Cowtown Brewery drafts at $5 available always. Food trucks and vendors appear occasionally; the bar sells hot dogs, chips, popcorn, Lunchables, and candy. A paid parking lot sits on the west side next to the building, but street parking is free. The venue is bookable for private events.
