About this studio

Memorial Dancesport Ballroom teaches partner dances at all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced competitors. The studio offers private lessons, group classes, and practice parties, combining them so you build confidence on the floor. Whether you come without a partner or with one, the instructors—including owner Eddie Stutts and manager Kimberly Turner—will teach you popular social dances you can use right away, plus prepare you for competitions if you want them.

The studio describes itself as "like the local dance hall where you look forward to coming to dance and see friends." Lessons give you a genuine workout while teaching you to lead or follow, understand music and rhythm, and develop your own style. They also run a practice/party session at the end of the week so you can try out what you've learned in a controlled party atmosphere before hitting the nightclubs.

Memorial Dancesport also specializes in wedding couples, helping you prepare for your first dance and other moments without the stress that the wedding day itself can bring.

The studio teaches Ballroom, Latin, Smooth and Rhythm styles across five structured levels: Introduction, Basic/Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Bronze is their most popular social program—designed for people who want to get out on the floor right away and have fun. Silver dancers develop flashy movements and versatility, standing out on a crowded floor. Gold is for those aiming at exhibition or semi-pro level dancing, with intricate choreography and showmanship.

Eddie Stutts, owner and director, has danced and taught for over 35 years. During his professional career from 1993 to 2007, he won 2 Professional United States 10-Dance Championship titles and represented the United States in 5 World Championships, making the finals 4 times. He was a guest performer on Dance With The Stars, dancing a Viennese Waltz with singer Seal. He has owned this studio for over 13 years and continues to organize competitions, judge ballroom events around the US, and coach students at various events.
