About this studio
Neon Boots Dancehall & Saloon occupies over 11,000 square feet on Hempstead Road in Houston and operates as both a teaching venue and social dance nightclub. The space includes a spacious dance floor with 10 bar stations, the Historic Esquire Room, a large outdoor patio with a 100-foot lit tree, and a front elevated stage.
The studio offers structured dance lessons in Country & Western styles. Tuesdays feature Country & Western Dance classes taught by professional dance instructor John Lindo, a dance champion. In July, the Tuesday schedule includes two-step lessons on the 1st Tuesday, then West Coast Swing lessons for the remaining Tuesdays. Thursdays host free line dance lessons starting at 7:30pm, with different dances and difficulty levels—beginner, intermediate, advanced, and absolute beginner—taught by instructors including Kimber, Justin, Jasmin, Nickolas, John S., and Amanda. Specific dances taught have included "Cowboy ChaCha," "Everybody Have A Good Time," "Imelda's Way," "Run Me Like A River," "Shirts and Skirts," "Near and Far," "Kerosine," "Back to Back," and "More Dessert." Saturday couples lessons for two-step are also offered.
Beyond lessons, Neon Boots operates as a full nightclub with regular social dancing. Friday nights feature a Latin Night Dance Party from 9pm to 2am. Country & Western dancing runs all night Saturday, and country dancing continues Sunday. Karaoke runs in the Esquire Room multiple nights per week. The venue hosts live bands and special events with ticketing available.
The facility caters to private events—anniversary parties, birthday parties, business events, engagement parties, weddings and receptions. Private rental options include the Esquire Room (an enclosed space with private bar), the Front Deck or Bull Pen (an enclosed area next to the dance floor), the entire hall (available Monday through Wednesday only), and the wrap-around patio with outdoor bar. Additional rentals include catering, mechanical bull, DJ services, photobooth with unlimited digital photos, and lighting.
The venue is 21+ only. Parking is free with a huge lot, overflow parking, and plenty of spaces. The dress code is casual and laid-back—cowboy hats and jeans preferred but come as you are—though shoes are required. Friday cover is $5 after 9pm.
