About this studio
Miss Daisy Dance Team teaches dance to students of all ages and abilities from their studio on Elton Rd in Bristol. The school has been running since at least 2018, when the lead instructor began teaching at BGS. Classes run Monday to Saturday, September to July, with a structured timetable covering Pre-Primary through Advanced levels.
You can learn RAD Ballet (Pre-Primary to Advance 2), ISTD Modern, ISTD Tap, Acro, Contemporary, Stretch and Conditioning, Musical Theatre, and one-on-one lessons. The syllabus approach means exams are available as you progress. Ballet is taught as the foundation of all dance, with the RAD syllabus chosen because it provides "a good foundation and a fun and engaging way to learn". Modern dance covers theatrical qualities, travelling steps, high kicks, leaps and turns. Tap is taught as a percussive, rhythmical art form with the distinctive metal-plated shoes. Acro classes teach flipping, twisting and tumbling for ages 4 and upwards. Contemporary dance is framed as combining ballet, modern, jazz and lyrical, with exploration of both Contemporary Ballet and Contemporary Jazz.
The teaching team includes Miss Daisy, Miss Molly, Miss Hannah, and Miss Amy. Miss Amy and Miss Chloe are identical twins from Bournemouth, now living in Bristol. They have trained as elite gymnasts for 9 years, competing nationally and internationally, and attended dance college where they studied many styles and graduated with distinctions. They won 1st place in Bristol Best Dance Act and have performed at the London Olympics, Strictly Come Dancing Children in Need special, and The X Factor finals at Wembley arena as dancers and acrobats. They also attended the World Cheerleading Championships in America three times.
The school offers free trials to all lessons. One-on-one lessons are available and tailored to each student's abilities. Junior and Senior competition teams run on Friday afternoons, alongside technical classes for leaps and turns. Saturday mornings host a range of ballet and modern classes from Pre-Primary to Grade 4 and above levels.
