About this studio
MOVE Dansstudio is a dance school in central Göteborg, housed since autumn 2017 in a converted syrup factory on Norra Kustbanegatan 13 in Norra Gårda. The studio runs classes for all ages, from toddlers through to adults, across a range of styles including ballet, street, contemporary, jazz, stepp, break, pilates, yoga and stretch.
The youngest dancers join MINIMOVERS, a parent-child class for ages 2–3 where a parent or trusted adult participates in movement activities alongside the child. From age 4, BARNDANS classes begin. JUNIOR MOVERS covers ages 6–12, while those 12 and older can choose from the full range of styles offered.
A major programme is Svenska Balettskolans förberedande danslinje—the certified preparatory dance line run in partnership with Svenska Balettskolan. This targets children born 2016–2019 preparing for the professional dance education pathway. Classes are taught on Wednesdays at 17:15 and Sundays at 14:30, following Svenska Balettskolan's syllabus and grading system. Each session includes 60 minutes of technique and 30 minutes of stretch. Discounted packages are available for students maximizing their training before entrance exams.
The school runs seasonal activities: an open house each August (next date Saturday 29 August 2026), a summer camp in week 32 blending different street styles for teenagers and adults, a 'friend week' in week 37 encouraging students to bring a friend, and a costume week in week 43. The autumn term starts week 36 and runs through the end of the year, with some courses spanning 12 weeks and others 14 weeks; half-term break falls in weeks 43–44. VIP cards are available for students wishing to attend multiple classes per week across the full term.
The three studio spaces at the Centrum location feature sprung dance floors, dance mats, mirrors, wall-mounted barres, professional sound systems with CD player and aux input, and large windows. Studio 1 is 156 sqm with skylights; Studio 2 is 143 sqm; Studio 3 is 67 sqm with portable flooring. Changing rooms include toilets, showers and lockable lockers. A café area near reception offers coffee and cold drinks, with a seating area and play corner for young siblings. A second location operates in Västra Frölunda.
Teachers named on the school's roster include Salma, Sally, Maja, Nazenin and Anna. The school describes itself as 'a real dance school' (en riktig dansskola) and emphasises quality, fun, development and inspiration in its teaching approach.
