Nord Dance School | Dance Modern From Of 4 Ans Lille

Nord Dance School is a modern dance studio in Lille founded in 2024 by Alison, a dancer with 9 years of teaching experience. The school teaches modern dance to children (from age 4), pre-teens, teens, and adults across three locations: Studios Nord at 128 Rue du Long Pot, Plateau Crasto at 81 rue de Trévise, and Au Bal Darling at 34 rue du Long Pot.

The school runs 13 weekly classes organised by age group and level. Children's classes take place Saturday mornings, teen classes Saturday afternoons, and adult classes run in the evening to accommodate working schedules. The school welcomed 200 members in its first year. Alison emphasises a warm, inclusive approach where technique blends with emotional expression and creativity. Classes for children focus on developing movement, musicality, and confidence through play and exploration. Adult classes range from beginner to advanced levels and combine technique, expression, and the pleasure of movement.

Each class follows a structured format. For children: welcome, progressive warm-up, energy release, learning basics and technique through games and tasks, choreography, and cool-down. For adults: progressive warm-up, muscle-strengthening and cardio work, stretching, technical training (jumps, turns, travelling), and choreography learning. The school organises a year-end gala bringing all students together to perform prepared choreographies on stage, with mandatory dress rehearsals beforehand.

Alison also offers personalised first-dance choreography for weddings and unique EVJF (bachelorette) experiences centred on dance. A free trial class is available so prospective students can experience the atmosphere and teaching style before committing. The school accepts payment in full or in three instalments and also accepts ANCV holiday vouchers.

You'll arrive for a class structured around your age and level. Children warm up playfully, learn technique through games and movements, and practise choreography before cooling down. Adults do progressive warm-up, muscle and cardio work, stretching, technical skills, and choreography. Classes are designed to help you build confidence and skill in a supportive environment without judgment.

Alison, founder and lead instructor, brings 9 years of teaching experience and a background in modern dance. She is described by students as passionate, energetic, motivating, and kind—someone who teaches technique while emphasising enjoyment and personal growth at all levels.

Classes welcome complete beginners at any age; each child or adult progresses at their own pace in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
