About this studio

Dance Center Crasto has been a fixture in Lille's dance landscape since 1979, when it was founded by Mary Claire Crasto. The school was taken over in 1999 by Christina Crasto and remains animated by a passion passed from mother to daughter. Located at 81 Rue de Trévise, the centre serves nearly 450 students and stands as one of the pillars of dance teaching across the Lille metropolitan area.

The studio's core discipline is Modern Jazz, but it has expanded to embrace many styles. Classique is taught under the direction of Thérèse Dutheil, and Tango features instruction from Melesio. The current season offers Tap (Claquettes), Indian Dance & Bollywood, Flamenco, Oriental Dance, Street Jazz, and Twerk. The centre also runs Yoga and Pilates classes. Christina Crasto serves as choreographer and artistic director—she has choreographed for the Palais de la Bourse Spring parade in Lille and oversees the centre's annual spectacle, which reached its 38th edition.

The centre operates four studios available for rental by the hour, day, or year. Studio A offers 130 square metres with dance mat, barres, mirrors, and sound. Studios B and C each provide 110 square metres with oak parquet, barres, mirrors, sound, and changing rooms. Studio D spans 55 square metres with carpet. All studios feature ceilings over 4.5 metres high, are heated, equipped with sound systems, and have access to a main reception hall and showers. These spaces serve professionals, companies, and individuals for personal training, rehearsals, auditions, castings, shoots, and events.

The philosophy underpinning Crasto is one of passion, enthusiasm, and fulfilment. Christina Crasto emphasises guiding and advising dancers and providing the best working conditions for both beginners and advanced students. The centre positions itself as a meeting point and workspace for all dance enthusiasts, where individual talent develops and the body and mind are cultivated together.
