About this studio
Que Pasa Dance Co is South Africa's oldest salsa school, established in 2000. What began with 7 students on a single Tuesday evening has grown into a thriving academy operating 7 days a week with over 100 regular customers. The studio is built on a teaching model where instructors are trained weekly to sharpen their skills across multiple genres.
Classes are held at 61 Loop Street in Cape Town's City Bowl. The studio specializes in Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba, Swing and Lindy Hop, and also covers other styles depending on demand. Group classes are offered on a weekly drop-in basis or as monthly specials. Three primary group class tracks run regularly: Salsa + Bachata + Kizomba; Cuban Salsa (Casino + Rueda); and West Coast Swing + 6 Count Swing.
Beyond regular classes, Que Pasa runs a performance company that has been active since 2001. The performance team is choreographed to the highest quality, featuring lifts, fancy moves, solo footwork and musicality. Dance Director John Morrison has overseen performances and arrangements since the company's inception, handling private performances, public appearances, corporate gigs and event entertainment.
Private classes are available and offered in package deals with bulk discounts for upfront payment. The studio also offers wedding dance classes, tailor-made to your chosen genre or special song, designed to build confidence and polish for your first dance. A 24-hour cancellation policy applies to private bookings.
