About this studio
Rhythmic Souls Dance Studio is run by Donnie Carl and Regina Shpigel, instructors with more than 60 combined years of experience in dancing, teaching, competing, and judging. Both completed Master Certification in West Coast Swing from GPDIA (Global Professional Dance Instructor Association). They teach baby beginners to professional level dancers across six core styles: West Coast Swing, Salsa, Country (Two Step and Line Dance), Ballroom, Latin, and Hustle.
Classes run most evenings across two studio locations within a mile of each other: Griffin Studios (5087 S Arville St Suite A) and Alchemy Breaking Academy (5154 W Patrick Ln Ste 110-A). The weekly schedule includes beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Mondays feature the Dance of the Month series (rotating through Cha Cha, Waltz, East Coast Swing, Hustle, Nightclub Two Step, Foxtrot, Rumba, and Tango). Tuesdays run Two Step classes at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, followed by a Country Dance Party. Wednesdays offer West Coast Swing at all levels, including advanced competitors. Thursdays teach Salsa. Fridays host an Intro to West Coast Swing class, a Styling WCSwing Workshop for intermediate dancers and beyond, and a late-night dance party mixing West Coast Swing, Country, Ballroom, and Salsa. The studio also runs monthly line dance lessons and organises outings to Stoney's Rockin' Country for Saturday night dancing.
You do not need a partner to attend any class; the studio rotates partners during lessons and you'll meet other dancers. Private lessons are available tailored to your needs, and private group lessons can be arranged. The studio also offers wedding dances (custom choreography for first dances and wedding parties), corporate events, flash mobs, and special dance party packages for conventions and fundraisers.
Regular social events include a Welcome Party (January), an Anniversary Party (celebrating nine years of building the dance community), Rhythmic Souls Challenge competitions with Jack and Jill events, and monthly West Coast Swing Progressive Jack n Jill competitions held on the fourth Friday of each month. The studio runs Westie Competition Prep Workshops to help dancers prepare for competitive events, covering technique, styling, and the ins and outs of dance competitions. First-time students receive a warm welcome; one reviewer noted "Thank you so much for your hospitality and making me feel welcome."
