About this studio
Sara Dance Center is Sarasota's home for social dancing, private lessons, and community. Located at 2821 Cattlemen Rd, the studio combines expert instruction with welcoming energy and regular social events. Two ballroom spaces — the Main Ballroom and Back Ballroom — host group classes, dance socials, workshops, and special events on a monthly schedule.
The center offers private lessons tailored to every level, from complete beginners to those refining technique. Wedding dance instruction is a speciality: Iya, an instructor with over 20 years of dance experience, works with couples to create first dances that feel natural and confident, whether simple and romantic or fully choreographed. Wedding consultations are available by phone.
Group classes and socials run throughout the week across ballroom and Latin styles including Salsa, Bachata, Swing, and Tango. The studio emphasizes beginner-friendly instruction and explicitly notes that no experience or partner is required to start.
Beyond classes, Sara Dance Center functions as a social hub. Weekly social dances and special events create space to meet other dancers and enjoy the community. The studio also runs a shop and maintains an online calendar so you can see what's scheduled at either ballroom.
