About this studio
Street Motion Studio is a dance studio in Innsbruck's Viaduktbögen district that teaches street dance and jazz. The studio runs regular classes and also hosts free community jams and larger events.
The studio offers street dance courses and jazz courses. During the regular semester (September to July), classes run Monday to Thursday, 14:45–20:00. Contact hours are Monday to Thursday, 14:00–20:00. In summer, the studio runs a limited programme: Funk Jam and Hip Hop Jam sessions (free) on Mondays and Tuesdays, 20:00–22:00, and paid Hip Hop Basics and Hip Hop Choreo classes on Thursdays at €12 drop-in per class.
The studio hosts several annual signature events. Jazz meets Street runs yearly and is documented in the studio's archive back to 2019. Up in ma Hood Battle is another recurring competition event. The studio also runs workshops, produces music videos and live shows, and has resident DJs. A videothek (video library) is available to students.
Beyond classes, the studio offers free training space (Freies Training), room rental (Raumvermietung), and bookings for performances. The studio has produced content including The Movie (2021/2022) and has hosted or co-hosted events like Soul Deck Jam x Soundboks (2022), Young Action Day (2022), Bogenfest (2022), and Shopping Night (2019). The studio is embedded in a broader cultural scene and supports exhibitions and community radio.
What to expect
Your first visit
New students can try a free class during the Schnupperwoche (trial week) at the start of each semester, attending any course that matches their age and level. Outside that period, drop-in classes are €12 per session. The studio is in the Viaduktbögen district and is open Monday to Thursday afternoons and evenings.
