Classes include free taster sessions (Schnupperkurse), crash courses, beginner workshops, and regular dance courses. You can also book private lessons for individuals or couples, available 24/7 either at the studio or at your location. Weekend workshops run Monday to Friday each weekend. Prices start at €15 for weekend workshops, €29 for beginner courses (couples or singles), and €39 for private lessons.
Wladimir Elesin (Wladi) is the lead instructor. Beginners need no prior experience or a partner to start—just comfortable shoes and light clothing.
Beyond classes, Swing Away runs a vibrant social dance programme. Four social dance nights run weekly: Mondays and Fridays in Barmbek (Wiesendamm 24), Wednesdays in Altona (Hospitalstraße 111), and Saturdays in Barmbek. Each includes a free taster at 19:00 followed by social dancing with entry on a donation basis. The studio maintains a WhatsApp and Signal community with over 1,100 members, and publishes a comprehensive calendar of Lindy Hop, Swing, Charleston, Balboa, Shag and Boogie Woogie events across Hamburg.
