About this studio
Swing Buffalo is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to sharing the enjoyment of authentic, historical forms of swing dancing. They host a weekly swing dance called Lindy Fix, as well as various larger dances and regional workshops throughout the year.
Classes run on Tuesday nights at Polish Cadets Hall and are structured in two formats. Progressive classes are month-long courses that build each week on what was taught before; topics change monthly and cater to beginners, intermediate, or advanced dancers. They also offer tracked classes in Lindy Hop and Charleston at Level 1 and Level 2, with Level 1 consisting of three 2-month modules and Level 2 consisting of four 1-month sessions. Non-tracked progressive classes are available in Lindy Hop, Charleston, Collegiate Shag, Balboa, and Blues.
The weekly schedule runs in two halls. The Upper Hall hosts Level 2 Lindy Progressive Track (7:00–7:45 pm), Level 1 Lindy Progressive Track (7:45–8:30 pm), and Lindy Fix, the weekly social dance with DJ-provided music (8:30–10:00 pm). The Lower Hall offers Open Practice in Balboa and Shag (7:00–7:45 pm), rotating progressive classes (7:45–8:30 pm), and a Weekly Beginner Lesson Class (8:30–9:00 pm) designed for absolute newcomers with no experience or partner required.
Swing Buffalo runs several larger events throughout the year: Rhythm Shuffle (Balboa in Buffalo), Lindy in the Buff, Buffalo Shag Stampede, and scholarships for dancers. The organization maintains a Code of Conduct and Safer Spaces policy. Private lessons are available weekly with Swing Buffalo instructors and Lihann Jones. Sign-up happens at the door with no reservations needed.

Your first visit
Come to the Weekly Beginner Lesson Class on Tuesday nights at 8:30 pm at Polish Cadets Hall in the Lower Hall—no experience or partner needed, and you'll be ready to dance upstairs by 9 pm. Classes are drop-in; just show up and sign up at the door.
