About this studio

Yanick Wyler and Eugenia Parrilla run a studio in Zürich that teaches three interconnected practices: Argentine Tango, Gyrotonic and Somatic Dialogue. Both are dancers, teachers and choreographers with over 20 years of study across many different techniques. Their philosophy unifies body, mind and soul.

In tango lessons, the focus is on internal alignment, balance, stability and functionality. You'll learn how to use your legs without force and free your joints. The teaching emphasises the embrace and connection with your partner, starting from a place of comfort in your own body. Tango is presented as a social improvisation dance where you discover your own creativity and learn to play with different rhythms and ideas. Their teaching style is described as passionate and ambitious, and they work with everyone within their own possibilities, regardless of age. They have a profound understanding of the body and work to solve any functional inconveniences you may be dealing with.

Gyrotonic is a comprehensive training that combines dance, swimming, yoga and martial arts. It works with the possibilities of spinal movement in all directions, using elongation and spiral movements to release contractions and stimulate internal organ function. The method strengthens internal muscles through creating stability via contrast, opening energy channels, oxygenating the blood and stimulating the circulatory and lymphatic systems. Benefits include a strong elastic spine, resistant and mobile joints, improved flexibility, better balance and coordination, and injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Somatic Dialogue is a method focused on discovering and exploring your own personal movement style. Through guided practice, you connect with sensations and breath to expand movement possibilities and relax the mind. The work emphasises perception, listening, patience, self-love and self-acceptance, helping you raise awareness of your body—skin, fasciae, muscles, bones and organs—and the environment around you as part of the movement experience.

Regular tango lessons run on Thursdays for intermediate and advanced students at Flurstrasse 4a, Zürich. The studio also teaches private lessons and offers group memberships. Yanick and Eugenia teach workshops and festivals internationally throughout 2025 and into 2026.
