About this studio

Tango Vancouver is run by Susana Domingues, a dance artist whose work spans choreography for film and stage, master classes across Canada, and teaching partner dancing in Vancouver. Her productions include "Tango Poema" and "Salsa, Colombian Style". She has built curriculums over decades, grounded in the idea that steps themselves drive discovery.

You'll be dancing within your first lesson. Susana's teaching method starts students moving to music immediately, answering questions as they arise and giving plenty of time to repeat mechanics until they flow. Couples find themselves dancing and being creative even at their first class.

Tango here is taught as an authentic partner dance — the kind danced in tango halls worldwide. Partners connect through focused attention on each other's movement. Susana's students progress faster than most.

Salsa is taught across three main styles: L.A. (Mambo), Cuban (Casino), and Colombian (Cumbia/Swing fusion). Susana blends steps from all three, so you can dance with partners of any style. The curriculum moves students from their first lesson into combinations, flow and dynamics.

Bachata is modern Bachata — slower, sensual, and designed around steps that allow respectful distance while keeping the intimate emotional nature of the dance. It's taught as accessible and inviting for those new to partner dancing.

The studio is located at 1440 W 12th Ave, Vancouver. Contact the studio by email or phone for class details.
