About this studio
Tanzschule Diereck Dross is located in Frankfurt's Ostend neighbourhood, in the courtyard between Hanauer Landstraße 155-157 and Ferdinand-Happ-Straße 36. The studio teaches Walzer, Discofox, Swing (Lindy Hop), Salsa, Rumba, Cha Cha, Foxtrott, Wiener Walzer, and Slow Foxtrott across a range of levels.
The defining feature is the termin-flexibles System (flexible scheduling): rather than committing to a fixed weekly slot, you pay a monthly flat rate and attend whichever parallel class times suit your calendar that week. If you miss a session, you attend another parallel time in the same or following week. All courses use this model, and the monthly fee gives access to all of them.
Courses include Hochzeits-Tanzkurs (wedding dance), Grundkurs für Paare (couple foundations), Fortgeschrittenen-Kurse (advanced couple classes), Lindy Hop beginners, Tango Anfänger, Salsa Fortgeschrittene with Rueda technique, Ladies First, and dedicated Singles courses for those under 50 and over 50. The first session is always an orientation and introduction to the method; real instruction begins the following week. A typical evening runs 50 minutes of instruction, a 10-minute break, then 15 minutes dancing with the next cohort (roughly 75 minutes total).
Private lessons are available, particularly for wedding couples preparing for their big day. The studio also offers Hochzeits-Coaching, a specialist wedding dance service, and can be rented as an event location for parties. All regular classes are live-streamed, recorded, and available for asynchronous viewing at home.
The studio runs regular social events: dance parties (Tanzparty), a Milonga COLORIDA, a Christmas Glamour Night, Lindy Hop workshops with parties, and has hosted summer dance weekends and a Sommerball. It also hosts Queer Ballroom events and a dancing Christmas market. Staff offer professional dance instructor training and apprenticeships through the ADTV/IHK framework.
