The Dance Factory Tampa Bay is both a teaching studio and event venue run by RELPro Dance Promotions. The studio operates under a distinctive Community Framework with five progressive stages: The Connected Level (culture and history), The Fundamentals Level (foundational technique), The Confidence Level (efficiency and execution), The Continuous Level (evolving through workshops and festivals), and The Community Level (giving back and leading). This pathway is designed to guide dancers through technique, respect for tradition, and community engagement.
The teaching team includes Dennis Lopez ("El Caballero"), who has specialised in Salsa On1 and On2, Cha Cha Cha, Bachata, musicality, and dance history for over 36 years and relocated to Tampa in 2015; Daniel Castillo and Angie Guillen, globally recognised Bachata Sensual dancers and choreographers with experience across the U.S. and Europe; Ronny Moquea, teaching traditional/modern Bachata with over a decade of experience; Jennifer Barreto, a Kizomba instructor and organiser trained with international instructors; Yashmin B., trained as a dance captain for the Miami Heat Dancers and now teaching Salsa, Zouk, and other styles; Brenda Liz, a high-energy Zumba instructor; Rome and Amy, a dynamic Sensual Bachata duo with over a decade of experience across Washington, D.C., Miami, and Montreal; Ian Sowell, teaching West Coast Swing to all levels; Natalya Kim, a versatile choreographer with 17 years of international teaching experience; and Isaac Hawkins, a Tampa-based Bachatero known for creative and musical instruction.
The venue space is located at 334 Westshore Plaza Unit A10, Tampa, FL 33609. Hours are Monday–Thursday 7pm–9pm, Friday–Saturday 7pm–2am, and Sunday 3pm–9pm. The Dance Factory also functions as an event venue, offering full event creation and management services including event design, marketing, DJs, lighting, photography, videography, and a 360 video booth. They host regular social dance events and parties throughout the Tampa Bay area.
