About this studio
The Rhythm Rebels teaches Lindy Hop, Blues Dance, Balboa and Solo Jazz in Bern's central Aarbergergasse. They run weekly classes for beginners and advanced dancers, Saturday afternoon beginner workshops called 'Kick the Basics', and Friday and Saturday evening parties that include crash courses for newcomers.
The studio occupies a light-filled space with an oak parquet floor (roughly 110m²), mirrors and bright surroundings. A long window front opens onto an inner courtyard, keeping noise low. Attached to the main dance floor is a smaller room with a bar, sofa, tables and chairs. The studio also has a lobby with coat storage, two toilets, a dishwasher and a lockable small room. A large terrace (45m²) with plants extends outside.
Teachers have many years of dance and teaching experience; the studio emphasizes social dance values—dancing together with open hearts, tolerance and respect for each person—and honours the African-American origins of these dances.
The studio rents its space for dance events, regular courses, concerts, rehearsals, private events, birthdays, weddings, apéros, seminars and meetings. Chairs and tables are available. Central location on Aarbergergasse 40 is accessible by public transport; ample parking nearby for drivers.
