About this studio
Agozar Dance Company, founded in 2025 by Alexandre Amoroso, teaches New York Style Salsa On2 in a studio at 8/F Fung Woo Centre, 279-281 Des Voeux Road Central, Sheung Wan. The studio is 10 seconds from the MTR station and described by students as having "all the facilities" with a "big studio."
Classes run seven days a week across four partner work levels (Beginner through Level 4), plus open work (shines), body movement and isolations, spinning and turn technique, and timing and musicality. Most classes are drop-in with no pre-booking needed; an Absolute Beginner 4-week course is also available. All drop-in classes cost HK$180, with discounts available on passes ranging from 5-class to 12-class and an unlimited 4-week pass. Private lessons are offered with flexible scheduling. Partners are rotated frequently in classes; no partner is necessary to attend.
The studio runs a weekly Friday Salsa Fiesta from 7:30pm to 11:30pm (HK$150 entry, or HK$250 class plus party). Special events include a Men's Night with free entry for men, public holiday socials, Chinese New Year parties, Halloween costume parties, and end-of-year celebrations. Soft drinks are provided at socials; you can bring your own alcohol to a sharing table.
The three instructors are Alexandre Amoroso (director), Sasha Dulina (choreographer and instructor), and Alessio Savona (instructor). Alexandre founded the company after 24 years of teaching salsa; he introduced New York Style On2 to Hong Kong in 2007, was voted Best Male Instructor of 2008, and previously ran Salsa Fiesta at Volar (a 10-year weekly Tuesday party) and Casa De La Salsa. Sasha trained in ballet, rhythmic gymnastics, folk dance, and ballroom before discovering salsa in 2010 with DANCETRINITY; she joined that school's instructor team in 2013. Alessio came to salsa as a hobby after moving to Hong Kong in 2010, trained in New York City with Frankie Martinez, Yamulee, Santo Rico and the Torres family, and has been part of Alexandre's team since 2015.
