About this studio
Flaunt is a professional pole dance studio located on the 4th floor of Bonham Centre in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. Founded in 2015 by Tessa, the studio has grown into a established space for pole fitness and dance. Tessa, the original founder, traces her athletic roots back to gymnastics in North America and later captained Hong Kong's Women's National Field Hockey Squad. Despite no formal dance background, she embraced pole dancing in 2007 and became Hong Kong Pole Champion in 2010, founding Flaunt in 2015.
The studio teaches across a range of styles and levels. Beginners start with Pole Beginner and Spin Pole Beginner classes, which build fundamental strength and flexibility. The studio recommends completing 6–8 beginner classes before progressing. From there, students can choose between Pole Tricks & Combo, Invert, Handsprings, or move into Exotic & Dance styles including Heels, Flow, Sensual, Urban, and chair dance. All pole and dance classes are valued at 3 credits; yoga and flexibility classes at 2 credits. Yoga instruction is also available—Serena and Selina are both RYT 500-hour certified.
The teaching team is substantial and experienced. Amie specializes in Flow technique and sexy, elegant choreography across all levels on both static and spinning poles. Angela came to pole with no dance or gymnastics background in 2016 and is known for complex tricks and combos, combining ballet, contemporary, and jazz training. Angie discovered pole in heels in 2016 while living in Hong Kong and focuses heavily on lines, techniques, and flow. Cheryl trained extensively in heels and exotic styles, started teaching in 2018, and is a physiotherapist supporting movement goals. Katana specializes in old school exotic pole and floor dance with emphasis on technique and lines. Lou started in 2014, completed her X-Pert certification, has trained contortion with circus instructors, and won several local and international pole competitions. Serena has been performing since 2006, graduated from Studiodanz - The showbiz project in 2012, and performs with local artists including Leon Lai, Alan Tam, Sam Hui, and Hacken Lee. Yoanna focuses on pole tricks and techniques. Selina is a 7-year Flaunt devotee who teaches sensual style with attention to details and body awareness. Zhanna is a world-class pole dance artist and choreographer with over 15 years of pole experience, originally from Belarus with a professional degree in dance.
Classes run 60 minutes and include a warm-up, technical work (tricks, transitions, combos or choreo), and a cool-down sequence. The studio offers drop-in classes through a credit system, practice sessions ($120 for 1 hour, one pole per person, shared studio and self-served), and private or semi-private instruction. Credit packages range from 3 credits (expiring in 30 days) to 60 credits (expiring in 90 days). A trial offer is available at $600 for 10 credits, good for 3–4 classes. The studio also offers courses with 3–5 students per class and encourages participation in studio showcases. Studio rental is available for external bookings.
The studio is welcoming to all genders and ages 13+. Students aged 13–17 need parental release forms. All students must remove accessories and avoid body lotion before class. No shoes are required for pole fitness classes; exotic pole and chair classes require knee pads and exotic heels or socks.
