Anyone Can Dance

Anyone Can Dance offers private instruction and group classes in ballroom, Latin and wedding dance, serving the Denver metro area including Wheat Ridge, Boulder, Westminster, Arvada and Broomfield. The studio is run by Jen, an instructor with over 15 years of full-time teaching experience and a background as a high-level competitor.

Jen trained extensively in New York City and spent several years studying intensively with world finalist Ieva Pauksena. She has competed at the National Dancesport Championships, placed in the top 100 at Blackpool World Dance Championships in England, and won 1st place International 10 dance pro-am twice. She holds a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Maryland and has been head coach of the Princeton Ballroom and Latin Dance Team and the George Washington University Ballroom and Latin Dance Team, as well as working with teams at University of Maryland, Georgetown University, University of Virginia and William and Mary.

The studio specializes in over 20 different types of partner dance including rumba, cha cha, swing, hustle, salsa, samba, waltz, Viennese waltz, tango, foxtrot, nightclub 2-step and quickstep. Private lessons are available for all levels and can be customized to your goals. Wedding lessons include specialized choreography to your song of choice and can cover first dances, father-daughter dances, mother-son dances or bridal party routines.

Group classes run in partnership with Wednesday Waltz Etc. at the Avalon in Boulder, meeting on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Wednesdays of the month. Classes run 6:30–7:30 pm followed by social dancing. The group focuses on rotary waltz but also teaches waltz variations, West Coast Swing, Cross Step Waltz, nightclub 2-step and triple step swing depending on the month. Drop-in attendance is welcome with no registration required. The studio also offers the option to build your own group class experience.

Jen emphasizes creating a non-judgmental, encouraging environment where nerves about learning to dance are met with understanding. She works with students to address their individual concerns and helps them achieve their personalized goals, whether that's learning new moves, improving technique, preparing for a wedding, meeting new friends or simply getting exercise and improving mobility.

Your first private lesson costs $40. Lessons are 45 minutes long and customized to your goals, whether you're an absolute beginner or looking to refine your technique. Group classes at Wednesday Waltz Etc. have an intro class followed by a technique class, then open social dancing; no registration needed.
