About this studio
Ballroom Dance Academy teaches ballroom, Latin, Salsa, Swing, and Argentine Tango for all levels in West Hollywood. The school runs group classes, private lessons, a nationally renowned Teacher Training program, and Ballroom Entertainment—a professional dance company providing performances for corporate events and private parties.
The teaching approach centres on technique and joy. Classes range from Level 1 (fundamentals and basic steps) through to Level III (advanced, fast-paced work). Salsa classes are progressive: Level I covers music fundamentals and basic steps; Level II introduces double turns, faster tempos, and complex partnering; Level III teaches flashy turn patterns and dynamic techniques for seasoned dancers only. Argentine Tango, Ballroom & Latin, and Samba and Merengue classes run as multi-week series. A four-week series covering Hustle and Nightclub 2Step at Level 2 is also offered. All-levels group classes run on weekends as one-hour sessions in summer specials.
The Teacher Training program is a formal vocational offering for serious students and dance teachers. It covers technique refinement, preparation for professional certification exams, and success strategies in the ballroom dance world. Silver and Bronze Smooth Teacher Training runs twice weekly.
Regular group Salsa outings are organised to popular clubs across LA, and students can access video recordings of steps taught in weekly classes and weekend workshops. The school also offers Kids' Classes, Specialty Workshops, and a Performance Team. Wedding packages are available, and gift certificates are sold.
