About this studio
BellasArtes Latin DanceSchool teaches four dance styles in the heart of Hamburg's Schanzenviertel: Salsa Cubana (7 levels), Bachata Fusión (4 levels), Rueda de Casino (3 levels), and Ladystyling. Classes run in five-week cycles at the Volkshochschule on Schanzenstraße, with new terms starting regularly. Each course meets once per week.
Salsa Cubana is the studio's core: you learn to dance the way it feels in La Habana—hot, honest, and full of life. The teaching spans absolute beginners (Level 1, Básico) all the way through to Level 7 for advanced dancers. Rueda de Casino and Bachata Fusión also cater to multiple levels, while Ladystyling focuses on expression and presence.
You do not need a dance partner to attend. Classes rotate partners throughout, so solo dancers join without awkwardness. Small groups mean high energy and individual attention. Probesstunden (trial classes) are available—contact the studio to arrange one.
Jonathan, a Venezuelan-born founder and teacher, brought his passion for Cuban rhythms to Hamburg. In 2004, he placed 4th at the Deutsche Salsa-Meisterschaft. Nora, a co-teacher, is described as the heart and backbone of BellasArtes, handling organisation and bringing attention to every detail.
No prior experience is required to join any class. The studio runs workshops on individual weekends for intensive practice in a single style. All courses cost €79 per five-week cycle (€69 per person for couples, €59 for students with valid ID). A loyalty price of €49 applies if you repeat certain levels (Salsa 1–6, Rueda 1–2, or Bachata Fusión 1). Private lessons are available by arrangement.
