BlueBallRoom Dance Studio

BlueBallRoom Dance Studio is in its 18th year, located at Independence Mall in Wilmington with plenty of free secure parking 1/2 mile from I-95. The studio teaches Salsa, Swing, Ballroom, Latin, Hustle, Country, Nightclub Slow Dancing, Tango, and more across a range of levels. They run beginner group classes each month, private lessons, coaching from professional DanceSport competitors, medal testing, and a competitive team called Future Stars. The studio also hosts regular practice dance parties.

Weddings are a core focus. BlueBallRoom offers specialised first-dance packages including the Wedding Package Sampler (2 private lessons, 2 practice sessions, and 4 new student group lessons for $209), the True Blue package (5 private lessons for $396), and the Baby Blue package (3 private lessons for $259). They also teach father-daughter, mother-son, and wedding-party dances, plus honeymoon prep and general reception-dance lessons. Lessons are 45 minutes and scheduled by appointment.

The teaching team includes Ken Richards (Co-Director, Professional Certified Instructor, WDSF Examiner), who was Marketing Director for Arthur Murray franchise headquarters and has held leadership roles in USA Dance including National President. Roseanna Richards (Co-Director) designed every aspect of the studio to optimise the dancers' experience. Denis Parfyonov (arrived 2022) is an International DanceSport Teacher and Adjudicator with 20 years of experience, Master's Degree in DanceSport Coach, and many International competition titles in Standard and Showdance. He teaches International Ballroom & Latin, American Smooth & Rhythm, Disco, and Nightclub to children and adults at all levels. Tania Sopit (arrived 2022) is Denis's partner and wife, with 11 years of teaching experience in Ballroom, Latin, Social Club Dances, and now American Smooth & Rhythm. Both Denis and Tania have performed at galas including the Pink & Black Ball and US Dance NY Gala. Aidyn Gangemi (USISTD Certified) is a dance instructor and choreographer with a background in competitive ice dancing and personal training certification.

The studio hosts a Summer Showcase in 2026 and runs a Blue Ribbon Competition Team. All lessons expire at one per week for group classes and two per month for private sessions. The facility has a liquor licence and hosts social events.

Your first lesson introduces the main dances most couples or students use. All lessons are 45 minutes and held by appointment. You'll work with certified instructors who scale teaching to your level, whether you're a complete beginner or building on existing experience.

Ken Richards is Co-Director, Professional Certified Instructor, and WDSF Examiner with 7 years leading the Arthur Murray franchise and national leadership in USA Dance and the World DanceSport Federation. Denis Parfyonov and Tania Sopit, who joined in 2022, are International DanceSport Teachers with Master's degrees, 20 years of adjudication and teaching experience, and multiple Ukrainian and International competition titles. Aidyn Gangemi is USISTD Certified with a background in competitive ice dancing and personal training.

Beginner classes run each month; the studio emphasises making learning fun and easy with certified, patient instructors.
