About this studio
Bluegrass Ballroom opened in 2022 and has become Lexington's hub for social partner dancing. The studio draws students from across central Kentucky—from Georgetown, Nicholasville, and Wilmore to Prestonsburg—all coming to learn in a comfortable, fun, and friendly atmosphere. The studio is located inside Jazzercise at Hartland shopping center, near Kroger Wine & Spirits.
You can learn ballroom, Latin, West Coast Swing, country western, salsa, nightclub, and line dancing. The instructors—Abigail, Ester, Andrew, Brenda, Bruce, Lydia, and Savannah, with Abigail and Ester as co-owners—are dedicated to teaching the most popular social dances while meeting each student's needs. Programs exist for all age groups and all levels, from complete beginners to advanced dancers.
Group classes need no pre-registration; you can show up whenever you like. If it's your first time, arrive 5–10 minutes early to check in at the front desk. Most people attend solo, and the studio actively encourages partner rotation in group classes as a way to meet new friends. If you prefer to stay with one partner, you can do that too—your instructors will guide you through the options at the start of class.

Good dance shoes slide slightly on the floor (Toms, Bobs, and Hey Dudes are popular), though gym shoes work too. The studio keeps inexpensive slides available at the front desk that you can wear over gym shoes.
