About this studio
Boca Latin Dance Studio teaches Salsa and Bachata to adult dancers at all levels, from absolute beginners through intermediate. Group classes are progressive and begin the first week of each month, with each session focusing on a new move each week. All group classes are half Salsa and half Bachata. The studio's curriculum blends technique, musicality, and social dance skills, with opportunities for students to perform throughout the year.
The studio is led by owner and Master Instructor Uriel Garcia, a 9× World Champion in Salsa, Bachata, Hustle and Cabaret. Garcia has competed and taught internationally across Canada, Spain, Australia, Ireland, Italy, Peru and China. He turned professional in 2012 and has achieved titles including The 2015 World Cabaret Salsa Summit Champion, The 2015 World Cabaret Bachata Summit Champion, The 2015 World Hustle Champion, and The 2014 World Bachata Masters Champion. He also placed third overall in the Theater Arts division at the 2018 Blackpool Ballroom Competition in England.
The teaching team includes Master Instructor Melanie Castillo, a professional Latin dancer of Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage who trained with Nelson Flores, Sekou McMiller and Ismael Otero. She is creator and director of Candela Dance Company, which has won two titles at the World Salsa Summit, and was a principal dancer in the 2021 feature "In The Heights". Instructor Leah Garcia specializes in social dancing and teaches Salsa On1, Salsa On2, Bachata, Kizomba and Zouk, with a teaching style focused on helping students become confident and considerate social dancers. Master Instructor Jeannette Fiallo brings over 26 years of dance experience with 11 years specialized in Latin dance; she is a Multiple World Champion and works with students on fundamentals, musicality, body movement, styling and performance quality.
The studio offers a free Fundamentals class every Monday at 7–8 pm, open to anyone with no partner required, where new dancers learn the basic steps and meet instructors. Private lessons are available for one-on-one instruction and customized training. The studio also arranges wedding dances, hosts monthly dance parties and social events, and offers performance opportunities through local performances and competitions. Classes are held Monday–Thursday 1:00 pm–9:30 pm, Friday by appointment only, and Saturday 10:00 am–2:00 pm. The studio is located in Boca Bay Plaza at 7600 N Federal Highway Suite 3, Boca Raton, FL 33487.

Your first visit
Come to the free Fundamentals class on Mondays at 7 pm to learn the basic steps of Salsa and Bachata, meet the instructors, and sign up. You'll work in a group setting with no partner required, and the first class is free. If you have prior dance experience, schedule a free evaluation with an instructor to be placed in the correct level before joining a progressive group class.

What to bring
Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement—jeans, workout wear or professional clothing are acceptable. For shoes, start with regular close-toe shoes with a smooth sole; avoid thick rubber soles or sandals. Dance shoes with a suede sole are recommended, especially if you plan to dance at least 2 days a week.
