About this studio
The Bossier Arts Council is a community-based organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the arts within Bossier Parish in Northern Louisiana. Created in 1980 through a joint effort by a local arts organization and the City of Bossier, the BAC has grown to focus on expanding arts opportunities in community theater, visual arts, festivals and exhibits, arts education for children and adults, public arts, and grants opportunities.
The council hosts a variety of events and exhibitions that highlight the work of local artists and performers. These include art exhibitions featuring visual artists, music concerts, dance performances, and theater productions. Events are designed to provide platforms for artists to share their work, connect with audiences, and network with other artists and potential sponsors. Fan-favourite programs throughout the year include events like ARTini and the SBC Zombie Walk.
Local artists—both new and established—are on display in the BAC galleries, with new shows rotating every two months. The council produces events ranging from exhibitions to live performances, all designed to celebrate and promote the diverse talent within Bossier Parish.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the BAC fulfills its mission of supporting arts education by engaging the community with outreach and supply drives. The organization also offers workshops, mentorship programs, and other educational resources to help artists and performers develop their skills and advance their careers. Membership provides priority access to events, workshops, and exhibitions, networking opportunities with artists and art professionals, discounts on tickets and artwork, and the chance for artist members to apply for gallery spots.
