About this studio

CSP Dance Studios has been teaching Albuquerque since 2009. The studio occupies two ballrooms on Eubank Boulevard NE, just off I-40. The grand ballroom features a 2300 square foot Dance Visions Danceflex dance floor and is used for private lessons and dance parties. The group ballroom accommodates larger classes. The five dance instructors bring varied expertise. Patti Smith, the owner and a professional certified dance teacher since 2001, holds certifications in Fred Astaire and DVIDA syllabi and competes with students at NDCA and UCWDC competitions. Kiersten has danced since age four and has been a professional ballroom, Latin, swing and country instructor since 2001, competing at NDCA, UCWDC and ACDA events. JW has been teaching ballroom since 2003 and has coached collegiate competitors while working with top coaches. Allie earned a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from New Mexico State University and brings 16 years of teaching experience, specializing in creative dance and early childhood education alongside partner dance instruction. Sage studied Contemporary Dance at the University of New Mexico and has choreographed for feature films and music videos.

Classes cover Waltz, Cha Cha, East Coast Swing, West Coast Swing, Polka, Triple Two, Two Step, Night Club, 4 Count Swing, Line Dance, Salsa, Bachata, Foxtrot, Rumba and Tango. Group classes are structured as Level I (no sign-up required, though advance payment speeds check-in). Packages of 5, 10 or 20 classes never expire and carry no refunds. The studio also runs social dance events: CSP Country Dance and CSP Variety Dance on select Fridays from 6:00–9:00 pm, with a welcome/beginner lesson from 6:00–6:30 pm and social dancing until 9:00 pm, no partner needed. Student Dance Ambassadors attend to help new dancers feel comfortable. The studio also offers intro country dance lessons at The Dirty Bourbon on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month at 6:15 pm.

Private lessons are tailored to individual goals and available for singles, couples or small groups. Wedding dance services include first dance consultation (covering entry, exit and DJ communication), choreography, music editing, mother-son and father-daughter dances, and group wedding lessons for the bridal party. The studio sells bridal-friendly dance shoes. Gift certificates are available online.
