Dance Starz AZ is a locally owned studio in Phoenix celebrating 15 years in business. The studio is run by Billy Jones, who has been teaching dance for 36 years and holds certifications through the NDCA. Jones is a former top 5 competitor in American Rhythm, a professional judge and choreographer, and creator of Dancing for Arizona's Children, a benefit for foster kids he has run for the last 5 years.

The studio teaches a wide range of styles across ballroom, Latin, swing, and country western. In ballroom, they offer American foxtrot, waltz, tango and viennese waltz, plus the International versions (slow foxtrot, quickstep). Latin and rhythm styles include rumba, cha-cha, samba, paso doble, jive, bolero and mambo. Swing dancers can learn East and West Coast swing, Lindy hop, and shag. Country western includes Arizona 2-step, progressive 2-step, triple 2, country waltz and country swing. The studio also teaches salsa, cumbia, bachata, merengue, night club two-step and Argentine tango, with line dancing available on request.

All private lessons are 45 minutes. Single lessons cost $75. The intro package for new students is 2 private lessons for $30. Progression packages include the 'Get on the Floor' package (5 lessons for $375), and an 'All Around Good Dancer' package (10 lessons for $675). The studio offers specialised wedding packages: 'Say I Do' (5 lessons, $420), 'Here Comes the Bride' (10 lessons, $675) and 'Flowers for Everyone' (20 lessons, $1,100), which cover first dance, father-daughter, mother-son and bridal party choreography. A 'Dance with Parents' package (3 lessons for $375) teaches mother-son, father-daughter and mother-daughter dances. Custom programmes are also available.

The studio operates private lessons Monday to Friday from 10 am to 7:30 pm and Saturday 10 am to 2 pm at the main studio on 16th Street. The studio welcomes both single students and couples, and emphasises that social dancing builds confidence for cruises, weddings, holiday parties and more. They also offer competitive training at a high level, with instructors who travel to NDCA competitions. The studio runs social dance parties and dance trips ranging from Europe to Hawaii, and offers floor rental to independent teachers by appointment.
