About this studio
DBoyerDance offers private one-on-one dance lessons in Vancouver, specializing in ballroom, Latin, smooth, and rhythm styles. Dominic is an accomplished instructor with 38 years of dancing experience and over 25 years of professional teaching. He began his dance journey at age 6 in his native Quebec, where his entire family danced—his mother introduced him to the art form, and he took group classes and social dancing lessons throughout his childhood. He moved to Montreal in 1995 and studied Marketing & Finance at Cegep Andre-Laurendeau, alongside holistic workshops and training in Master Reiki, Light Body Meditation, and Shiatsu, all of which he incorporates into his teaching approach.
Dominic began instructing at major dance schools in Montreal in 2002 and relocated to Vancouver in 2005, where he has worked as a freelance dance instructor while participating in showcases, competitions, and Pro-Am events. He specialized in International & American Style Ballroom Dancing beginning in 2006. His achievements include competing at the Grandball with his students (winning 1st place) and performing at the PNE. He has choreographed fusion dance performances, including a New Year's Eve 2017 performance at Academy Duello in Vancouver.
The studio teaches Cha-Cha, Rumba, Triple Swing, Jive, Samba, Slow Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Bolero, Salsa, Bachata, Argentine Tango, Fusion dance, Blues dancing, Lindy hop, and Swing hustle. Each lesson is fully personalized to your goals, energy, and style. Dominic focuses on the social dance aspects—feeling the music, connecting with yourself and your partner, and learning how to lead and follow so you can dance with anyone regardless of level.
The studio serves semi-retired couples looking to reconnect with their partner through weekly dance dates, newly engaged couples preparing for their wedding first dance, people seeking fitness and physical creativity, and those who have always wanted to learn but felt discouraged. Dominic describes his teaching style as fun, approachable, and focused on clear instruction that makes learning easy. Sessions are designed to build real confidence, not just memorize moves, in a relaxed, supportive environment where no experience or rhythm is required and no pressure is applied.
The studio specializes in wedding first dance lessons and has helped hundreds of couples achieve their dance goals with ease. Lessons are available Monday to Friday from 10am to 10pm, Saturday from 10am to 11pm, and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.
