About this studio

DivaDance Chicago Lincoln Park teaches adult dance classes in pop-music choreography, hip-hop, heels, and dance cardio. The studio is located at 848 W Eastman, Chicago, IL 60642, with a sister location at 3140 N Lincoln Ave in Lakeview. Classes are all-levels and built for adults with zero to extensive dance experience.

The studio offers three class formats. DivaDance Choreography runs 60 minutes and teaches an original routine step by step, broken into bite-sized 8-count phrases. NonStop is a 45-minute follow-the-leader cardio class with no choreography to memorize—high-energy dance to a curated playlist with repeating mini routines that sync with song structures. DanceRx is a 75-minute therapy-inspired class that combines low-impact lyrical choreography with mindful journaling and deep stretching, designed as a weekly self-care session that reduces stress and boosts flexibility.

Instructors are certified DivaDance instructors trained in signature cueing techniques that help you lock in muscle memory fast. The studio emphasizes a judgment-free environment where every body belongs. According to survey data from 10,627 new DivaDance students nationwide over the past year, 95.6% are not currently training as dancers, 49% have no formal dance training at all, and 23.1% are true first-timers. The median student age is 33. Classes welcome all adults 18 and over, all genders, and teach routines to pop hits and throwbacks you actually want to hear.

The studio runs bachelorette dance parties, birthday bash parties, team building parties, ladies' night parties, and parties for expecting moms. Instructors can choreograph custom routines tailored to your group. DivaDance also offers Performance Programs where adults can learn and polish a routine, then perform it live on stage or in a filmed performance. Beyond classes, DivaDance runs member-only social events called DivaDates—coffee hangs, themed outings, and celebratory nights out that help adults build friendships and community.

The franchise owner Lexi L. leads the Chicago location. The studio has a 5.0 rating with 84 Google reviews. Reviews consistently highlight the welcoming community, supportive instructors, and confidence boost from the experience. Many reviewers note they came with zero dance experience or extreme nervousness and felt immediately accommodated and celebrated.

Studio history

DivaDance was founded by Jami Stigliano, who began by choreographing Paula Abdul-style routines at sleepovers in her Texas bedroom. After captaining a dance team at The University of Texas and working as a music-industry executive in New York, she decided in 2015 to leave the music business and create the judgment-free adult dance community she couldn't find elsewhere. The brand grew from that mission into a nationwide franchise operating 50+ studios across the U.S. and Mexico City.
