American Tango Institute (ATI) is the leading center for Argentine tango instruction in Chicago, founded by master teacher Netza Roldán. ATI offers social tango classes, monthly milongas, cultural events, and a distinctive teaching methodology that aims to connect body, mind, and soul through the art of the embrace. With more than 20 years of history, the institute has become a reference point in the regional tango scene, blending tradition, technique, and artistic expression into a vibrant, passionate community.
What to expect
Your first visit
Classes are offered for all levels across three suburban Chicago locations — Palatine, Wheeling, and Des Plaines — alongside monthly milongas and special cultural events. ATI is currently rebuilding its full website; in the meantime prospective students are invited to register to receive updates and join the community. No prior tango experience is required.
