About this studio
Easy Swing is a swing dance school active across Belgium since 2011, offering over 20 hours of classes per week across two cities: Brussels and Liège. The school teaches Lindy Hop, Solo Jazz, Charleston, Blues, JazzFit, and Swing Kids (for children aged 4–6), spanning eight levels from absolute beginner to advanced.
The school's core teaching philosophy is ELEF—Everybody Leads, Everybody Follows—meaning every student learns both lead and follow roles in partner dances. This approach removes barriers to entry: you don't need a partner to start, and there's no waiting list for ELEF classes (subject to room capacity). New beginner courses begin every month, and the first lesson is always free with no commitment required.
Classes are structured into 16-week sessions, with 32-week annual options available. Each pathway typically comprises one hour per week, though special courses extend to 90 minutes. The school organises at least three intensive weekend workshops annually with international guest teachers (in November, February, and May), plus additional themed workshops throughout the year. Partner rotation during classes is standard practice to help students progress faster, though students can request to stay with one partner if preferred.
Easy Swing emphasises swing music and culture as integral to dance learning. The school states: "Swing without culture is just a trend, and trends pass. But we want Swing to stay alive for a long time." The Swing Kids programme introduces children aged 4–6 to rhythm and movement through musical games, songs, stories, and basic Charleston and Solo Jazz steps adapted for young learners.
The school welcomes all ages and ability levels, with no age minimum or maximum. Discounts are offered to students under 26 and unemployed people (proof required). Make-ups are allowed: each student receives three make-up credits per 16-week session in classes at the same or lower level. Instructors are qualified and experienced, and the teaching team is named as Ale, Sarah, and Sax.
