About this studio
Flamenco Danza is a dance studio in the Casco Antiguo neighbourhood of Sevilla, on Calle Fray Diego de Cádiz. It specialises in flamenco, ballet and danza española, offered as in-person classes throughout the year, online classes and intensive summer courses.
The studio is run by sisters Tamara and Úrsula López, recognised bailaoras and coreógrafas with more than 30 years of teaching experience and performing careers on national and international stages. Both are co-founders of the project. They have trained with major figures in flamenco and Spanish dance, including Antonio Gades, Pilar López, Eva la Yerbabuena, Manolete, Cristina Hoyos, Aida Gómez, Manolo Marín, Javier Latorre, José Antonio Ruiz, Antonio Canales, Maestro Granero, Benvindo Fonseca, Víctor Ullate, Ramón Oller and Teresa Nieto.
Flamenco classes cover técnica de pies (footwork for precision and speed), marcajes y giros (essential flamenco movements), coreografías from different palos, and técnica y coreografía con bata de cola (technique and choreography with the flamenco dress). Both Úrsula López and Tamara López teach these courses. Ballet courses follow the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) methodology and are led by Christian Lozano and Tamara López, aimed at intermediate and advanced dancers, with preparation for auditions and conservatory entry. Danza Española, Escuela Bolera and Palillos courses are taught by Tamara and Úrsula López, building step-by-step technique in these fundamental styles. The studio also offers workshops with flamenco masters, available both in-person and online.
The studio occupies two spacious rooms designed for all dance disciplines. Rooms are available to rent for performances, shows or rehearsals. The location is in the emblematic Macarena neighbourhood, metres from the old town walls.
