About this studio
Fred Astaire Dance Studios in Fort Myers teaches ballroom, Latin, Smooth, Rhythm and Swing dancing to students of all ages and abilities. The studio sits on Cypress Terrace Circle, about 5 minutes from Bell Tower and less than a mile from Blue Pointe Oyster Bar and Seafood Grill.
The studio's teaching method combines Private Lessons, Group Lessons and Practice Parties. Private Lessons are one-on-one or couples instruction tailored to your pace. Group classes are designed to be taken alongside private lessons and cover a range of dances and techniques for all levels. Practice sessions happen in a party-like atmosphere where you apply what you've learned without the pressure of a public setting—the lights are dimmed, music is supplied, and you can dance with other students and instructors.
The studio offers a dedicated wedding programme. Couples can work toward a simple First Dance or a fully choreographed routine for the entire wedding party. The studio also teaches Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances, and encourages you to bring songs, venue photos, wedding attire details and dance video examples to your consultation so instructors can understand your vision. The studio recommends starting lessons at least 5–6 months before your wedding date.
Instructors at the Fort Myers location include Andrei and Elena (Studio Directors), Yulia (Professional Dance Instructor and Office Manager), Russell (Professional Dance Instructor and Studio Dance Director), Anton, Maria, and Dima. All instructors are certified in the Fred Astaire Curriculum. Many hold Fine Arts degrees and are actively competing, award-winning professional dancers. The studio also offers access to Regional, Inter-Regional, National and International Pro-Am and Professional Dance Competitions, an online dance store with dozens of dance-related items, and special coaching sessions and community outreach events.
New students receive a special money-saving Introductory Offer. The studio welcomes singles and couples; if you come alone, your instructor becomes your partner for private lessons, and group classes and practice sessions provide opportunities to meet other students with the same interests.
