About this studio

Fuego Dance teaches salsa and bachata at Rue de la Digue 10 in Ixelles, a five-minute walk from Place Flagey. Classes run two evenings per week across beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Tuesday evenings focus on salsa: Salsa Intermédiaire at 20h and Salsa Intermédiaire/Avancé at 21h. Thursday evenings mix both styles, with Salsa Débutant lvl 1 at 19h, Bachata Débutant lvl 1 at 20h, and Bachata Intermédiaire at 21h. Sessions run September to December 2026 and are taught in French and English.

Laurent, the studio's instructor, trained at École Artémis and holds a diploma in pedagogy. He is a dancer with Arté-Mixto and earned his Bachata Moderna diploma from Ataca & La Alemana (World Mastery). He has over 13 years of teaching experience. The studio emphasises small groups, individual advice, and the chance for each student to dance with the instructor. Laurent knows students by their first name.

Classes follow a three-part structure: warm-up covering footwork, rhythm and isolation; introduction of a new move broken down step by step; and practice to music with partner changes and socialising. Beginners learn rhythm, basic steps and first partner moves—within weeks, students dance at social events. Intermediates develop sequences, styling and musicality, dancing with more fluidity and personal style. Advanced students focus on improvisation, musical interpretation and techniques including rueda, suelta and bachatango.

The studio runs Noche Latina events several times a year at Cactus Club, Bruxelles—themed social evenings open to students and non-students alike. Upcoming events include the White Edition on 11 April 2026 and Hawaii edition on 13 June 2026. Laurent also offers private lessons, small-group workshops, and services for weddings, anniversaries, team building and EVJF/EVG events.

No partner is required; most students arrive solo and change partners during class. The studio operates on a pay-as-you-go basis with flexible scheduling. You can drop in to a first class 15 minutes early, or join via WhatsApp message to Laurent.

Your first visit
