Brussels Swing Dance Club

Brussels Swing Dance Club has been teaching Lindy Hop and swing styles since 2017. The club offers classes across multiple levels—from absolute beginner through to advanced—with a particular focus on making swing dancing accessible to newcomers. Free taster classes run regularly, and beginner courses are split into Level 1 and Level 2, with drop-in classes available on Tuesdays at 21:00–22:00 starting 13 January 2026. Intermediate and Intermediate-Advanced classes meet on Wednesdays, with an invitation-only Intermediate-Advanced group also offered. An Advanced 12-week performance course called Lindy Hop Show runs on Thursdays (18:30–20:00, January–March 2026) and focuses on choreography, stage presence, and performance skills.

The club's teaching team includes Olga Moiseeva, who founded Moscow's premier swing dance school (MSDS) in 2002 and has taught Lindy Hop for over 20 years; she was an instructor at Herräng Dance Camp in 2012, 2018, and 2022, and participated as a panelist at Frankie100 in New York in 2014. Sasha Kuznetsov co-teaches with Olga, specializing in the musical and rhythmic aspects of dance and authentic solo jazz; they emphasize improvisation and joyful partner communication in their classes. The wider teaching roster includes Tereza Daňková (strong technique focus, follower empowerment), Mikael Dominguez (flow and musicality), Sophie Van Lint, Chiara Bartolucci (member of The Jassettes), Lionel Lutgen (explores musicality through Modern Jazz, Bal Folk, and Latin before swing), Aurore Cupers (teaching Balboa alongside Lindy Hop), Sofia Tsaliki (blues music and rhythm focus), Ben Desmedt (12 years of contemporary dance training before discovering Blues and Swing), Nacho (Jazz Maniacs member, teaching Lindy Hop with vintage-inspired style), and Lysandra (Jazz Maniacs and The Jassettes member).

The standard location at Rue Félix Bovie 25, 1050 Ixelles is currently closed, with classes held at alternative venues including Rue d'Arlon 38 (1000 Bruxelles), Rue Général Leman 116 (1040 Etterbeek), and Avenue Emile Max 139 (1030 Schaerbeek). The club uses a new booking system via Eversports, which also offers a mobile app for phone bookings. Drop-in classes are available alongside course-based offerings.

Beyond weekly classes, BSDC runs the Lindy Hop Show group (a performance ensemble returning for a second edition), the Jassettes (a Brussels-based multinational chorus line inspired by authentic Jazz Era dances), and collaborations such as the new invitation-only group with Brussels Stompers. The club holds an annual Open Day in January with free taster classes. A weekend crash course option is also available for those unable to commit to weekly classes. The club welcomes inquiries for bespoke performances and event choreography.

Beginner classes are relaxed and supportive, designed for absolute newcomers. You can attend a free taster class on the Open Day (13 January 2026 with Olga) to experience Lindy Hop and Jazz for the first time, or start with a Level 1 drop-in class on Tuesday evenings. Classes focus on learning the basics in a friendly environment, with a clear pathway to Level 2 and beyond once you've built your foundation.

Additional instructors include Tereza Daňková, Mikael Dominguez, Sophie Van Lint, Chiara Bartolucci, Lionel Lutgen, Aurore Cupers, Sofia Tsaliki, Ben Desmedt, Nacho, and Lysandra, each bringing distinct backgrounds in ballet, contemporary, Latin, tap, and blues.
