Absolute beginners can join dedicated introductory courses in Collegiate Shag, Lindy Hop, Jazzy warm-up (dance fitness with solo jazz elements), and Tap Dance. The studio describes swing dancing as characterised by groove, syncopated rhythm, swing feel, close connection to music, improvisation, and celebration of community. Classes are taught by named instructors including Rosalyn, Annabel, Marc, Merel, Marnix, Nasos, Katya, Elif, Hanna, Rachel, Stephanie, Darren, Roosmarijn, Paride, and Titti, among others.
Classes meet at two locations: the main studio at Jam Circle (Herengracht 13) and the Dutch Language Café (Herengracht 13A). The schedule shows classes running Monday through Thursday, mostly in the evening. A 12-week block costs €150 for early-bird registration (before 1 September) or €160 standard price. Discounts apply: the second class is 20% off, and the third and subsequent courses are 30% off. The studio notes that if cost is a barrier, they will work to find a solution.
Every Tuesday at 20:45–22:45, Hague Hoppers runs a weekly social dance practice at the studio on a donation basis. Every two or three weeks, they organise social dance events with live bands at Open Amare (Spuiplein 150), also donation-based. The last Sunday of each month, Hofstad Hop (a separate organisation) runs a 'Beer dance' social with live music in de Prael brewery, 14:00–18:00. The studio also arranges workshops and summer courses during holidays, and hosts regular taster sessions for absolute beginners with no registration required.
